“Romina” Székely-inspired striped black, green & blue skirt
Description

While the “Romina” corset is inspired by traditional folk wear in the Csík region, its pair, the “Romina” skirt, draws on a much broader Central and Eastern European folk vocabulary. 

The volume hiding inside its finely worked pleating, as well as the details across the hem, recall elements found across traditional Austrian, German, Polish and Ukrainian skirts. 

Keeping the waist perfectly defined yet descending into full, utter volume the further down it unfolds is the signature trait of the skirt. The waistband sits flush and tight, while its back portion is elasticated in order to ensure a comfortable fit. A discreetly concealed side zip further makes it even easier to slip in and out of.

As in the case of the “Romina” corset, the skirt too features motifs that are not printed. Instead, they are woven, following a design custom made by Vivien.

Speaking of the corset, the skirt matches it in detail: three rows of black velvet ribbon finish the lower part of the skirt.

Generously constructed from a good amount of fabric, the skirt is intentionally unlined to give it the lightness and flow that make it sweep with you with every step.

Jessica is 1.66 m (5'5") tall, with an 85 cm (33.5") bust, 61 cm (24") waist, and 89 cm (35") hips. She wears a size XS/S.

Machine wash at 30°C. We recommend machine washing rather than hand washing, as modern washing machines can provide a gentler and more consistent wash. Use a medium spin cycle of up to 1000 rpm.

This piece is made in India, where we've worked with the same workshop for almost 10 years. India is the birthplace of cotton and home to over 500 embroidery techniques, some of the world's oldest. We chose to produce here not for cost, but for unmatched expertise in handwork and natural materials.

Our workshop has deep knowledge of traditional embroidery and garment construction. Together, we explore both European folk patterns and Indian craft techniques, mixing traditions to create something new. It's a collaboration we're proud of.
