Blouses & Shirts

The folk blouses at Voriagh are built around two distinct embroidery traditions that meet in this collection. The Vyshyvanka Podillia blouse carries Ukrainian geometric embroidery - the counted-stitch patterns specific to the Podillia region, worked in black thread on undyed cotton in a silhouette of bishop sleeves and a tie neckline. Alongside it, the István and Timea blouses draw from Hungarian Matyó embroidery: a tradition of dense floral motifs in blue, ochre and ivory, typically centred on the sleeve and chest. Both draw from documented folk traditions, now translated into everyday wearable pieces.
