"Nelda" embroidered black velvet bodice
Description

The 'Nelda' bustier is freely inspired by the mysterious aura of folk costumes of the Balkans.



Well-engineered to harmoniously fit all chest shapes, this charming short bustier is decorated with an embroidery technique called 'Blackwork Originally made with silk thread on light-colored linen or cotton garments, this 16th-century style embroidery was occasionally embellished with colored or metallic thread. Here, we decided to bring our personal touch, by making the embroidery with golden thread, on an elegant black velvet.

Chermila is 169 cm (5'7") tall, and wears size XS. Her measurements are 90 cm (35.4") bust, 68 cm (26.7") waist, and 89 cm (35") hips.

Lise has wavy hair, is 176 cm (5'9") tall, and wears size XXL. Her measurements are 115 cm (45") bust, 98 cm (38.5") waist, and 128 cm (50.5") hips.

This piece is made in India, where we've worked with the same workshop for almost 10 years. India is the birthplace of cotton and home to over 500 embroidery techniques, some of the world's oldest. We chose to produce here not for cost, but for unmatched expertise in handwork and natural materials.

Our workshop has deep knowledge of traditional embroidery and garment construction. Together, we explore both European folk patterns and Indian craft techniques, mixing traditions to create something new. It's a collaboration we're proud of.

All production meets rigorous standards: BSCI for social ethics, OEKO-TEX® for textile safety, and full transparency throughout the supply chain.
