“Marica” Plastron dress in black and striped cotton
Description

Like fingers tracing along words written in old books, so will the eye follow the patterns on the “Marica” dress, surprised anew with every other glance.

A dress created in classic folk style, it features one of our favorite and single most flattering silhouettes. Put your arms up, and the generous sleeves open like those of a bird mid-flight. On the front panel, the motifs are placed in a V shape, following the shape of your body and emphasizing the waist. And don’t be fooled into thinking these are printed. They are actually woven, deep colors blending together in patterns that dance along the front of the dress and along the sleeves and hem.

The cut will sit well on all body shapes and types and the dress can be further cinched with ties at the back, letting you adjust the fit to your liking.

Jessica is 1.66 m (5'5") tall, with an 85 cm (33.5") bust, 61 cm (24") waist, and 89 cm (35") hips. She wears a size S.

Machine wash at 30°C. We recommend machine washing rather than hand washing, as modern washing machines can provide a gentler and more consistent wash. Use a medium spin cycle of up to 1000 rpm.

Wash dark colours separately. Iron inside out on a high heat setting with steam.

This piece is made in India, where we've worked with the same workshop for almost 10 years. India is the birthplace of cotton and home to over 500 embroidery techniques, some of the world's oldest. We chose to produce here not for cost, but for unmatched expertise in handwork and natural materials.

Our workshop has deep knowledge of traditional embroidery and garment construction. Together, we explore both European folk patterns and Indian craft techniques, mixing traditions to create something new. It's a collaboration we're proud of.

All production meets rigorous standards: BSCI for social ethics, OEKO-TEX® for textile safety, and full transparency throughout the supply chain.
