"Linnea" dress in natural linen and blue embroideries
Description

At the centre of the “Linnea” dress, a rosette. Eight petals radiating from a central motif, the embroidery bringing it to life in a way that would remind ethnographers of the flower-shaped motifs of old, of solar wheels and stars. The sun’s very geometry traced in thread. Fitting for our Midsummer dress.

Versions of this motif travel far. They appear across Eastern and Northern Europe, from Ukraine to the Baltic lands and into Eastern Scandinavia.

Made of heavy, natural linen, the dress is finished with cotton lace in a soft flaxen shade. Should you wander off into a field of wheat drying before harvest, you’ll find it blends right in and that’s on purpose. The dress was made to evoke the season of abundance, harvest celebrations and Midsummer traditions.

It’s the same cut as our “Austra” and “Astrid” dresses, so choose the same size as you would for either.

Our model Marion is 180 cm tall (5'11) and wears the size M.

Crafted from 100% linen and easy to care for, this piece can be machine washed at 30°C. We recommend using a regular machine wash cycle with spinning, as it helps the natural fibres regain their shape. To preserve its beauty over time, wash separately or with similar colours.

This piece is made in India, where we've worked with the same workshop for almost 10 years. India is the birthplace of cotton and home to over 500 embroidery techniques, some of the world's oldest. We chose to produce here not for cost, but for unmatched expertise in handwork and natural materials.

Our workshop has deep knowledge of traditional embroidery and garment construction. Together, we explore both European folk patterns and Indian craft techniques, mixing traditions to create something new. It's a collaboration we're proud of.

All production meets rigorous standards: BSCI for social ethics, OEKO-TEX® for textile safety, and full transparency throughout the supply chain.
