"Lavinia" embroidered velvet winter hat ceramic
Description

The Lavinia hat is inspired by traditional winter silhouettes. Made from velvet and fully lined with cotton, it offers warmth and everyday comfort. The top features folkloric-inspired embroidered motifs. 

We searched extensively for a wool or plant-based faux fur to replace the recycled polyester trim used on earlier versions. Despite reaching out to multiple suppliers across Europe and Asia, we were unable to find a viable natural alternative at our scale. This final batch will therefore use the original faux fur trim. We wanted to be transparent about this, and remain committed to finding a solution for future versions. Our research has, however, led us to discover a beautiful wool and mohair faux fur that we look forward to incorporating into future designs.

Made of embroidered cotton velvet, lined with cotton. The faux-fur trim currently shown will be replaced during production with a plant-based or wool alternative. Customers will be kept informed of material updates throughout the crafting process.

This piece is made in India, where we've worked with the same workshop for almost 10 years. India is the birthplace of cotton and home to over 500 embroidery techniques, some of the world's oldest. We chose to produce here not for cost, but for unmatched expertise in handwork and natural materials.

Our workshop has deep knowledge of traditional embroidery and garment construction. Together, we explore both European folk patterns and Indian craft techniques, mixing traditions to create something new. It's a collaboration we're proud of.

All production meets rigorous standards: BSCI for social ethics, OEKO-TEX® for textile safety, and full transparency throughout the supply chain.
