"Constanze" austrian dirndl (Mieder) in black velvet
Description
The “Constanze” dirndl is very close to our hearts because it is a direct tribute to our origins. A legacy of a kind of folk costumes worn since the second half of the 19th century by the aristocracy in the Alps region, originally inspired by rural clothing: the name Dirndl comes from 'Dirne' meaning young lady in Austrian dialect.



The bustier is made in a very high-end cotton velvet and lined with floral cotton. Many dirndls feature lacing up the front, but some are buttoned up. We have chosen this version to keep the lacing for the back, so it can be easily adjusted to your size.



Our model Violette is 163 cm tall (5'4) and wears the size PETITE.

Her measurements are : bust 83 cm 32.6' / waist 60 cm 23.6' / hips 86 cm 33.8'.

This piece is made in Lithuania, where we've worked with the same workshop and Rita for years. Lithuania has a deep heritage in linen production: the fabric is native to the region, and the craft tradition for working with it runs centuries deep.
