"Astrid" embroidered dress gingerbread inspired
Description
The embroideries on the “Astrid” dress unfold across the bust, sleeves and hem like flowers coming into bloom. Just above each hem embroidery, two small pleats allow you to adjust the length to suit your height by removing them or adding even more. See the illustration to the left for guidance.

The square neckline is adorned with fine cotton lace, while an embroidered belt is attached below the front yoke, ready to be tied at the back. Two pockets are sewn into the side seams, and a left-side zip makes the dress easy to slip into.

Crafted out of washed, soft cotton, the dress breathes and moves with ease. Come summer, it is enough on its own. Should you want to wear it for even longer, layer a turtleneck and thick tights beneath and you’ll be ready to face the colder days, too.

The embroideries on the "Astrid" dress are the result of our own research and making. They are freely designed by us and are not associated with protected cultural heritage.
Our model Elvira is 170 cm tall (5'6) and wears the size Small.

Her measurements are : bust 91cm 35.8' / waist 66cm 25.9'/ hips 90cm 35.4'.

This piece is made in India, where we've worked with the same workshop for almost 10 years. India is the birthplace of cotton and home to over 500 embroidery techniques, some of the world's oldest. We chose to produce here not for cost, but for unmatched expertise in handwork and natural materials.

Our workshop has deep knowledge of traditional embroidery and garment construction. Together, we explore both European folk patterns and Indian craft techniques, mixing traditions to create something new. It's a collaboration we're proud of.

All production meets rigorous standards: BSCI for social ethics, OEKO-TEX® for textile safety, and full transparency throughout the supply chain.
