"Alina" embroidered bustier dress oak brown
Description

The “Alina” bustier dress is a piece of Norwegian inspiration, more precisely of a unique kind of “Bunad” from Bergen. Usually composed of several elements, there is a “Bunad” which unites bustier and skirt, thus forming a practical and comfortable dress. We had the pleasure of discovering this traditional costume during a trip to Bergen (South-West Norway).


Made of a heavy and firm cotton canvas, the dress has a bustier with a low neckline that reaches the chest in the middle, to harmoniously match all body shapes, especially bigger chests. It sports a lacing that echoes the original “Bunad” corset.


You will find on the straps, the front sides, and the bottom of the dress pretty bird embroidery - a nod to the joyful patterns found on the traditional 'Bunad'. The dress closes with a zipper located on the side and has pockets.


Last little note: know that we designed 'Alina' in three colors, but indigo blue is the closest shade to the traditional color in the region of Bergen!


The blouse is not included.


Cassandre (first model) is 166 cm tall (5'4) and wears the size Large.
Her measurements are : bust 105 cm 41.3' / waist 84 cm 33' / hips 118 cm 46.4'.
Elena (second model) is 171 cm tall (5'6) and wears the size Small.
Her measurements are : bust 84 cm 33' / waist 66 cm 25.9' / hips 93 cm 36.6'.

This piece is made in India, where we've worked with the same workshop for almost 10 years. India is the birthplace of cotton and home to over 500 embroidery techniques, some of the world's oldest. We chose to produce here not for cost, but for unmatched expertise in handwork and natural materials.

Our workshop has deep knowledge of traditional embroidery and garment construction. Together, we explore both European folk patterns and Indian craft techniques, mixing traditions to create something new. It's a collaboration we're proud of.

All production meets rigorous standards: BSCI for social ethics, OEKO-TEX® for textile safety, and full transparency throughout the supply chain.

Style With
