There is something special about the Alps in every season, but summer really brings out their magic: peaks still capped in white almost as a dare to the heat that gathers below, wildflowers everywhere and, of course, houses tucked into slopes that have seen centuries come and go.
Something about this scenery always reminds us of our childhood and the sense of wonder that filled those days. And so, we’d like to bring back that feeling by way of two unique DIY kits inspired by the magic-filled houses that fuelled our imaginations: one modelled on the traditional homes of Eastern Europe, the other on the timber-framed homes of Central Europe.
DIY Kit No. 1: "Chata House”

The first one, an old Chata house, is inspired by traditional folk houses in Eastern Europe. Decorated with folk motifs, it features a small fence and even a bit of the greenery that would traditionally surround the house.
A DIY project for slow summer days, best enjoyed unhurried. Take a few moments just for yourself, when you have a bit of time to spare and no other place to be.
DIY Kit Contents:
- Envelope containing a QR code linking to a step-by-step video tutorial
- Stork embroidery scissors
- Embroidery hoop
- Full-size cross-stitch pattern
- Natural Aida fabric
- Brown Aida fabric
- Voriagh fabric for the interior of the house
- Batting
- Embroidery floss mounted on a perforated thread card
- Embroidery needles
- Pins
- Buttonhole thread
- Buttonhole elastic
- Two wooden buttons of your choice (heart or flower), included
Once finished, the little house can hold all your little treasures, trinkets or whatever else simply cannot go missing.
DIY Kit No. 2: "Fachwerk House"

The second house-themed DIY kit is a “Fachwerk" house. Its shape is inspired by the traditional houses of Central Europe, timber-framed beauties known the world over. It, too, borrows a bit from the wonder and whimsy we saw as children, and so it features climbing vines, windows aglow with light and all sorts of little details worth getting lost in…
A cross stitch house that is also best created slowly, while the days are still long and blending into one another.

And, just like the first house, this one can also act as a trusted guardian for all your precious souvenirs or treasures.
